The Best Personal Development Book Of All Time

What Is Personal Development?
Personal development, self-help, self-growth, or personal growth—all of these terms have been used almost interchangeably over the last 50 years to describe the same thing.
While I don't disagree with the appropriateness of using any of these terms, not one of them defines what personal development is all about. Before we get into the book that I, and millions of other people feel to be the best of all time in the field, it is necessary to figure out what the hell we are talking about here.
Here is how I define personal development. It is, very simply, the constant improvement of the strengths we have, understanding of the weaknesses we have, and a process of self-education on techniques, strategies and ideas that will help us live better, and give back to the world in an effective way.
The key idea here is constant learning. Striving to improve ourselves is not a selfish thing at all—the only thing we have control over is ourselves, and therefore to improve is the greatest gift we can give back to the world.
Leaders Are Readers
If personal development is a constant improvement of ourselves through self-education, then it only makes sense that we must constantly be reading and learning to get better. To be the best versions of ourselves, we have to learn techniques and strategies that will work for us.
Before I get into explaining the best personal development book of all time, I would encourage you to make it a point to invest back into yourself. Of all the money that you earn, and all of the money you spend, how much of that has gone into making you better?
Also consider your time. How much time do you invest in making yourself better? By the way, time spent watching TV does not count at all!
Think And Grow Rich
Think And Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill is the standard by which all personal development books are judged.
In all of my conversations and interviews with successful people, and all of the other books I have read, I have yet to find a successful, motivated individual who has not read this book. It is cited again and again as the landmark work on the science of success and achievement.
Since it's publication in 1937, the book continues to stand the test of time, and has sold over 30million copies world wide.
The book is the result of Hill interviewing over 500 of the most successful, influential, and affluent people of his day. After meeting Andrew Carnegie on assignment as a reporter, it was Carnegie who thought this would be a good idea, and offered to make all necessary introductions for Hill.
Carnegie offered no financial backing, or instructions on how to get the work done—just those critical introductions accompanied by a letter of recommendation for Hill. The rest was up to the young writer.
- Personal Development
Personal Development has been a driving force in what I do for over a decade now. I would love to offer any help I can. Your life is not an accident, don't leave it up to chance.
Insight That Still Stands Today
From those interviews came Think And Grow Rich.
Clearly, as the records show, the information inside the book is timeless. While it stands as one of the best selling books of all time, it will no doubt continue to sell year after year, as new generations looking for a blueprint of success continue to flock to it.
If you are beginning a journey in personal development, this is the place to start, and this is the time for action. If you have read Think And Grow Rich in the past, I highly recommend one of the updated audio versions for a refresher.
I read this book every year, sometimes in a new version, sometimes in it's classic version. Every time I reread the book, I learn something new.
Taking proactive steps in your personal and financial development is the absolute best thing you can do as we move into a new year. Get this book, get started today, and change your life.

Napoleon Hill is the original. All others are merely copies. I also liked his Law of Success which was written earlier. In fact, Think and Grow Rich is a condensed version of The Law of Success.
I had purchase an audio version of Think and Grow Rich several years ago. I had read somewhere that Hill struggled financially towards the end of his life though.
